SWAYAM SIDDHA

Women from the semi urban section were inspired by the 'Maher' Initiative; hence the concept of working together was very well understood by them. We had sufficient resource to set up any small unit for Manufacturing or processing activity. Tailoring Activity was one of the basic requirements for almost all family; hence we collected the Sewing Machines, tables and other required materials from various resources, and 'Swayam Sidhha' was established.

The women employed under this unit were from under privileged class of the society. And this opportunity served for many women to cater their financial need along with managing family responsibility.

In last 12 years nearly 325 women have been trained under this Initiative, out of which 45 women had started their own business.

With the help of various contacts Ahilya Mahila Mandal is invited for various Trade Fairs where in the Products that are manufactured under 'Swayam Sidhha' is kept for sale and now has a sizable turnover and approx 30 women get a regular employment under the same.
