'Indira Sanskrit Pathshala' was started in July 2003, with 4 students in Pen. Along with other classes at various locations in Raigad District. Where in 200 Students have been trained as purohit, who are now practicing and conducting various rituals in the society, some of these Purohits are Women, who perform traditional rituals at various occasions.
Sanskrit is now taught to Tribal students as well, nearly 40,000 students have been taught ganpati atharvashirsh shlok till date.
The Man behind this 'Indira Sanskrit Pathshala' is tremendously interested in this subject hence even today at the age of 90 Years, Shri. Rameshwar Trayambak Karve (Tatya Karve) travels to various locations and teaches Sanskrit free of cost.
Shri. Karve Ji has been felicitated by 'Kalidas Award' by Government of Maharashtra for preaching and Promoting Sanskrit Language.
